Honoree's Remarks
As the first woman to receive tenure and the first to be promoted to full professor in the 50-plus year history of the Civil Engineering Department at UTA, I'd like to mark the occasion with the book "Women in Engineering: Pioneers and Trailblazers." The book honors women engineers who blazed trails for me, as I have hopefully blazed trails for other women to follow.
