Honoree's Remarks

Small group performance is a topic of significant interest to academic researchers and business managers. The overarching research question is do people perform better or worse when working in teams as compared to working individually. In other words, “Are two heads better than one?” More recently, with the advent of pair programming as a software development practice, this question has become highly relevant in the context of software development. This has been a primary focus of my research over the last decade. Larson’s book provides an integrative view of the multidisciplinary research carried out on small group performance.
