Honoree's Remarks
Convolutional neural networks and deep learning have revolutionized the field of computer vision in recent years. Thanks to these novel techniques, the impact of computer vision on commercial applications has increased tremendously, and continues to grow at a rapid pace. It is important for UTA students to familiarize themselves with the state of the art in deep learning, and this textbook provides an excellent introduction to these new techniques.
