First Person Plural, by Deann Borshay Liem, is a beautifully crafted documentary that follows Deann as she explores the meaning of family via her own experiences being adopted from Korea into a white home. First Person Plural informed my own research as a family sociologist (which resulted in my first book, Culture Keeping) and is a DVD I use regularly in my teaching.
