Honoree's Remarks

This book was written by professors at Stanford and Berkeley. It is a “bible” textbook in the field of statistical and sparse learning. It presents methods that exploit sparsity to help discover few useful information from big data. In this age of big data, these methods have been widely used for abnormal detection, feature selection, pattern mining, biomarker discovery, outcome prediction and so on. More importantly, my PhD thesis work was honored to be included in this “bible” textbook.
