This was one of the first books that I read when I began my Ph.D. program. This book integrates a combination of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methodologies and addresses the significance of access and success for all students. This is an important book for me because it introduced me to the challenges that students are facing when navigating higher education, and provided me with a fuller understanding of strategies that colleges and universities could employ to better assist these students. This book also encouraged me to develop my own research to promote college access and success for all students.
