Honoree's Remarks

I read one the first editions of the book when I was a child – 9 years old – it was my dad’s copy. I was always looking for new material and that looked interesting. I still have that copy, all full of highlights and notes of my 9-year-old self. The message of the book is pretty simple: “When you want something, really want something, the whole Universe comes together to make your wish come true.” The message stayed with me from that age – I went through adolescence and young adulthood knowing that all I need to do was to find what I really wanted to do. When I found it, I got on a plane with nothing but my wish. And I never went back. And now I wish that every UTA student feels the same way.
