Honoree's Remarks

Accounting Theory was the book that formed the basis of my first accounting research seminar taught by Prof. James C. McKeown, who later became my dissertation advisor.  This is the book that sparked my interest in the role of accounting in capital markets and has been the foundation on which I built my research career.  I was very fortunate to have one of the authors of this book, Michael Van Breda, as a colleague at SMU.  I chose this book to honor two of the most important people in my research career.
