In honor of Donors to the contstruction of the UTA Libraries Cold Storage Vault

UTA Libraries Cold Storage Vault opened in 2016 to preserve millions of photographic negatives detailing the rich history of North Texas. The collection features over 4 million photos from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s photographic archive.
The UTA Libraries Special Collections’ photographic holdings constitute irreplaceable documentation of Texas culture and history, and the natural and built environments of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. By preserving these valuable images in a controlled environment, we are extending their life by 500 years. Completion of this project was made possible by the generous support of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the University, and private and corporate donors.
