Honoree's Remarks

I chose this book because it permeates and contributes to our constitutional values, civil liberties and the right to live and make our own choices in a free and democratic society.  As a professor who teaches Introduction to the Criminal Justice System, it is important to make everyone of all races, ethnicities and nationalities aware of the United States Bill of Rights, which were framed at a vital time in our nation’s history by the founding fathers that establishes the fabric of integrity to ensure equal protection, treatment, and due process under the Rule of Law.

Additionally, the book continues to educate us all on how American politics should be governed fairly, just and effectively.   The book also discusses the importance of the three branches of government.  “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." - Martin Luther King Jr.
