This book reminds us to unplug from modern life from time to time; to stop working; to allow us time to reflect and think and luxuriate in solitude.
As an artist these moments are critical for tapping into creativity. As a human these moments are essential to our well-being. We are all too often asked for our vision but are given little time to dream. We are asked to work hard but are given little to recharge. We are asked to perform but are given little time to reflect. We are consumed in a society that assigns value (including self-value) through work. My identity is more than my job and my hope is that others will discover the benefits of wasting time. This book does an excellent job of helping the reader realize the benefits of 'stopping -to -smell -the -roses' and to find balance between work and life.
