Jess T. Dugan is one of the most interesting photographers working today. Their book Look at me like you love me is a visual meditation on the fleeting emotions of desire and intimacy. Their portraits depict moments of companionship and emotional vulnerability with a transparency that is chilling and powerful. The book contains portraits, still-life, and prose poetry made by Dugan during the period of COVID lockdown. Dugan’s photographic style is informed by historical traditions of portraiture, even as it subverts them.
